Dead in the Head

This is probably redundant since I'm sure if you're reading this you probably already know that Bot is dead. We played our last show on July 24th at the Millard's Garage and it was an awesome sweaty blast to go out in.After 18 or so odd shows I think I can say we put in an alright run. Steve's playing guitar and singing in a band called Singapore now ( http://www.myspace.com/onwardsingapore ) Marty and Shane are jamming and I am doing fuck all. Since this barely got updated as it was, and there is no reason for anyone to do so, I guess this is goodbye.

Dead air.

Hi.
We played with Shearing Pinx last night, they fucking kicked ass.
I don't feel like writing right now... but my ears are still ringing from ShPx. Damn, they rule.
The point? We received in the mail (the other day) a handful of Bot/Shearing Pinx split cassettes! Woo!
There is something like.. 4 or 5 left of the box we got, though Nic (of ShPx) said he could send us another box of 10 or so... it's a run of 45, so if you want one, get that shit now! Alright... I have nothing to blab on about, goodbye.

one hand will wash the other. (damn.)

Good morning, captain.
it's been a damn time since i or Capt. Greebley wrote anything for no one to read, but here I am, breaking the silence. since the last update, we have rocked pretty goddamned hard, if i am free to say so for my self. and i am free to say so for myself.
all three shows we've played (Millard's garage, Brodie's basement, Hey boo-boo, whaddayouthink'sinthatpic-a-nicbasket? (the answer is a fun! fun is inthatpic-a-nicbasket/party)) were kickin'assin'. Commotion in my pants the Ocean are pretty sweet, first time I saw them, and i definitely do not mind. Psyched to hear a bit more from them. Damn damn rock and roll riffin'. And a girl drummer? Awesome, about damn time a girl played some music in Sudbury. Woops. About time a girl played something other than an acoustic guitar in Sudbury.

Intermission:
A-B-C... easy as 1-2-3
or simple as Do-Re-Me
abc, 123, baby, you and me girl.
Outermission:
Candy girl, you are my world.
I need your love each and ev-ery day.
(thank-you)

Last night i had some fun with a bunch'a friends, happy belated birthday to nicholarse millarse. (DOUBLE-ARSE'D, HELL YES/HELL YARSE. TRIPLE ARSE'D NOW.)

And ...a few days ago? Probably. I hung out with Lightmares and Bunnies from Berlin during/after they played to some assorted parents and shitty bands (hello, aberdeen, that's a cool backdrop you've made for your table) on the very stage that the one and only Honeymoon Suite (yes, THE Honeymoon Suite) would play on mere hours, or maybe like, a day, later! Apologies to the Bunnies for walking in during the first song, but as you no doubt recall, I CHEATED THE SYSTEM AND WAS ILLEGALLY IN THERE. MUCH LIKE A MEHICAN.'
And yeah, Nill+Blue jean baby, LA Lay-day+Jessesmith, I still love French Girl about as much as I love my penis.

Oh, a final attack, EVERYONE that was at Millard's' last night is a jerk for playing songs without me being there. I understand WHY you did this... but HOW you COULD do this... just breaks my heart to see those stars smashing perfectly good guitars.

I love you all so very fucking much.

Ask

I know, it's serious.

Hi guys. I wanted to say some things, even though I haven't got much to say. Bot is a lazy beast. A lazy beast who lost his cave. The Incinerator will no longer be our home, we've been evicted (or rather, denied re-entrance by the ...powers that be... (fight the...)) We wrote a new song the other day, or rather, we wrote more to go with a song we started a while back. What came out of it was something completely unexpected, I don't know how it came about, but I really like it, maybe you will too. Maybe. So, everyone's slacks are pressed and shirts are tucked for the motherfuckingarage show (thanks to James, Danielle, James (remix), Nicholas, and Yoda Millard for putting this on, by the way) on the 10.
Y'all should be equally dressed-nicely, it should be a barrel of repeated blasts of fun.
And also, not gonna start any rumours, but there may or may not be an appearance by the one and only Kiefer Sutherland, star of Fox's 24!!! (Again, not starting any rumours... but tell your friends...)

After that, you can look forward to the Picnic Party The Second, on August 16, at Myths and Mirrors. Everyone that goes gets a free awesome time, but it costs 5 dollars. You can't put a price on happiness, and this Picnic Party The Second is Happiness reincarnate, okay? So technically, the price that has been given to Happiness is five dollars. Is that so bad? Hell no, it isn't. In fact, it's fucking awesome. Really, really fucking awesome. You can even get your grub on there, and yes! there is a fully operational brothel not five minutes walk from Myths and Mirrors!!! Tell your friends! This will start at noon o'clock, and the party will be bumpin' long into the midday, and even the EVENING!!!

What I'm trying to say is that:
* August 10, Millard's Garage, 5PM, $5: Special Noise, Lightmares, Bunnies in Berlin and Us! (459 Lasalle Blvd.)
* August 16, Myths & Mirrors, 12PMnoon, 5 bucksss: Lightmares, Us, Bunnies, Newport Trophy Wives, Emily!, Herd of One, Birthday Cakes and Meadowlark Lemon!

xo, stephen.

Oh, and a very happy birthday to my brother!!! (the 1, not the 2... it's past midnight, but it still means today...)

Shit, it's been awhile, eh? If you're reading this and you have been separated from your birth giver for at least 19 years you should come out this Thursday to the PUNKSUD FUNDRAISER, the boys over at Small Change Inc. have been hard at work getting our community site back online, now let's show them some appreciation!

Family feud.

First off, a shout-out - nay, a CALL OUT - to Jamie Millard and all three of those Lightmares punks. I'm starting an official band feud/war that will probably be of epic proportions (all you 300 fans, watch the fuck out, this will be so much more intense... and to be honest, 300 kinda sucked... and that's on record). And that word, "record"is exactly the reason! No one even called to get me to come yell a bit with Lightmares while they recorded their (totally fuckin' righteous) whatnot. And with that aside, their shit sounds awesome... I know Beeree already said it, but I'm jumpin' on that bandwagon. Let me tell you, whenever that sees release , you're gonna get so wet.

In Bot news...
we have sent a few songs (11 minutes worth, I believe. I am not sure which ones, but I hope to know shortly) to Vancouvervancougars Isolated Now Waves. We're going to have a split cassette coming up with one of my favourite Canadian bands going, Shearing Pinx! Hell yeah, man! Keep yr eyes+ears open+clean (respectively, of course) for this thing, not sure when it will be peeking it's head above ground, but it's comin' good and well for sure for sure.

*Footnote! If you're of-age, July 24 is a fundraiser for a new punksud. Five bucks at the Townehouse, and the reinstatement of Sudbury's online music community!

They Blew Up The Art School...

So it's finally summer. I just woke up and its 2:05 pm and I'm sweaty and my mouth is dry. What did I do last night... oh yeah, I sat in with a girl and almost fell asleep early. I smoked a joint and as I began to curl up with a comic ( Spider-Man :Back In Black) my phone rings and its Stephen who needs shelter for a bit on his long walk to Garson, ON. He was kind enough to bring me an Eat-More which I requested over the land line, we then proceeded to eat, drink and watch Arrested Development. After he and Kirsti left I watched a couple episodes of Dr. Who and fell asleep (apparently I smoked another joint too because theres a half smoked joint hanging out on my bedside table). So yes... It is summer, what is Bot doing?

Well we are 100% done recording, mixing, mastering, blah-blahing. Nothing has been established thus far as to a release but talk to one of us and maybe we can burn you something to tide you over until we release something a bit more substantial. We have a show July 4th at The Polish Combatants Hall, come check it out.

We would absolutely just love to play a couple local shows this summer, so get in touch with one of our many limbs (Marty, Shane, Billy, Steve) and it will report back to the brain for further investigation/confirmation.

In other news, our brothers in Lightmares have finally done it, they recorded last night and I couldn't be more stoked on it (the Lightmares link on the right will lead you to a couple of tracks, CHECK THEM OUT, I'M SERIOUS!) especially We Blew Up The Art School... it's like they just know what I want to hear.I also heard if you listen to the bridge in Ghost you can find a Neil a Don and a Drake. Bunnies in Bro-lin are also looking to record sometime so stay tuned for that, there is also a link to that on the right.

So to wrap this up I'm telling you to check out the Lightmares recording, keep an eye open for Bunnies In Berlin and talk to Bot's because they don't bite, oh yeah and we are in a bit of a jamming limbo right now as we have to keep switching jam spots for 3 more weeks..it's like trying to fuck on every surface of your house but you have to move gear every time, so it's not as fun. Oh yeah and those shirts, we should be doing that soon, I know we are slacking.
